Extrusion Lamination Plant

Machine Introduction

Over the years, Cygnet Machinery has developed advanced Extrusion Coating Lamination Plants designed for multi-purpose applications that can be processed on a single machine. Extrusion coating lamination is a highly effective process used in the packaging industry to produce composite materials by combining multiple layers. These include Woven Bags with BOPP & PP, Paper with LDPE Coating, Non-Woven with BOPP & PP, Paper with Foil, Raffia with PP, and more.

The machines manufactured by Cygnet Machinery serve a wide range of industries such as Flexible Packaging, Industrial Applications, and Specialty Films. Our extrusion coating lamination technology allows the application of functional coatings that significantly enhance the performance of the final product. The extruded polymer coating delivers moisture and gas barrier protection, heat sealability, improved strength and durability, better printability for branding, and enhanced surface finishes for visual appeal.

With high-speed continuous operation, our machines ensure efficient and streamlined production. Key features include automated tension control, web guiding systems, and precise thickness control mechanisms, all designed to maintain consistency and uniformity. Built for large-scale production, these machines contribute to increased productivity, reduced downtime, and superior end-product quality.

Major Components

  • Extruder Unit – Designed according to material width, equipped with a Gravimetric Hopper Loader and specially engineered Screw Barrel for smooth polymer flow.
  • Unwind Unit – Dual-station unwinder with air brake system for uninterrupted operations, ensuring proper tension and alignment.
  • Flat Die – Specially designed T-Die for extrusion of molten plastic, offering precise control over film thickness.
  • Laminator Unit – Equipped with a Chilling Roll for cooling and solidifying the molten film, Backup Rollers, and Nip Rollers that provide counter pressure to ensure strong bonding of laminated layers.
  • Rewind Unit – Advanced rewinding system with four drum rollers and a tension control mechanism to collect the final laminated product uniformly.
  • Edge Trimming Unit – Ensures clean, uniform edges by trimming excess material, with collection to a dedicated winding section.
  • BOPP Front-Back Registration System – Aligns pre-printed BOPP/PP films with accuracy using PLC-controlled sensors, guaranteeing perfect registration during lamination.

Benefits

  • High-Quality Lamination – Engineered for precision, particularly with pre-printed BOPP films, ensuring laminated products meet the highest quality standards.
  • Versatility – Capable of processing a wide range of substrates including woven sacks, papers, foils, nonwovens, and films. Customizable with different polymer formulations to meet specific requirements across diverse industries.
  • Consistent Output – Equipped with advanced monitoring and control systems that regulate thickness, line speed, temperature, and pressure for uniform results, even in demanding applications.
  • Sustainability & Efficiency – Designed to optimize polymer use with thinner coatings, reduce material consumption, and minimize waste. Capable of producing recyclable or eco-friendly multi-layer packaging structures, while maintaining high production efficiency and lower energy usage.
