Machine Introduction
Cast film extrusion is a highly efficient process used to produce thin, high-quality stretch and cling films with consistent thickness and excellent clarity. These films are widely applied in industries such as packaging, agriculture, medical products, adhesive tapes, and more, where durable and uniform films are essential.
Cygnet Machinery manufactures two-layer and three-layer cast film extrusion machines, engineered to meet diverse production requirements. Depending on the application and production volume, manufacturers can select the most suitable machine type to achieve films with specific properties. Stretch cast film machines are particularly valued for producing films used in pallet wrapping and load securing. These films provide superior stretchability and cling properties, ensuring load stability during transportation and storage.
Major Components
- Extrusion System: Plastic resin, typically polyethylene (PE), is fed into the extruder, melted, and forced through a precision-designed die to form a continuous sheet of molten stretch or cling film.
- Casting Unit: Equipped with a steel chill roll and a rubber-coated roll, the molten sheet is rapidly cooled on the chill roll while the rubber roll applies pressure for smoothness and uniformity. This ensures a consistent and defect-free film surface.
- Film Trimmer: Edges of the cast film are trimmed to maintain uniform width and product quality. The trimmed material is recycled back into the extruder, reducing waste and improving efficiency.
- Tension Control & Take-Up System: Advanced tension control ensures wrinkle-free, distortion-free film throughout production. The finished film is then wound onto jumbo rolls for further processing or direct use.
